In the seventh episode of NOTABLE, host Adrienne Beckham (she/her) sits back down with Nico Meyering (he/him) to hear his perspective on board efficacy, and what it means to define and reimagine what disability leadership can look like in an organization.  

 Nico Meyering lives with Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome, a rare and potentially life-limiting disability with under 2500 cases globally. After earning his MPA from Binghamton University and serving two AmeriCorps terms which took him to California and Texas, Nico went back his home state and served as a board member of the CCHS Family Network for six years. Since 2021 Nico has focused on improving outcomes for all disabled people. He is the chairman of the Philadelphia Mayor’s Commission on People with Disabilities, a trustee for Awesome Disability, and the Vice-President of Young Involved Philadelphia. 

In the sixth episode of NOTABLE, host Adrienne Beckham (she/her) sits back down with Bailey Gamberg (they/them) to hear updates on their professional journey towards leadership and the experiences they draw from to navigate the structure of and integration into board leadership spaces. Bailey M. Gamberg (they/them) is an emerging leader and museum educator in the Greater Philadelphia Area. Currently in their role as Educator of Adult and Community Programs at the Brandywine Museum of Art, Bailey develops creative, accessible programming for adult and family audiences in collaboration with community partners. Some of their favorite programs to plan include Sensory-Friendly Access Hours and Plein Air painting workshops. They also serve on the Programming Committee for the professional networking group, Museum Council of Greater Philadelphia. In their free time, Bailey enjoys soaking up the sun with their dog, painting thrifted objects, and reading autobiographies.

In the fifth episode of NOTABLE, host Adrienne Beckham (she/her) continues the conversation with Jasmin Sethi (she/her) where she reflects on her experience and philosophy on entrepreneurship, professional development and entering professional spaces throughout hercareer as a person with a disability. Jasmin Sethi is a lawyer, economist, entrepreneur, and CEO of Sethi Clarity Advisors (SCA). SCA is a woman-owned and disabled-person-owned small business boutique consulting firm that helps financial firms in various capacities. Her achievements have been recognized by countless clients, including Morningstar, Capital Group, and Saifr, a compliance innovator incubated by Fidelity Labs. Jasmin also serves on the US Securities and Exchange Commission’s Small Business Capital Formation Advisory Committee. Jasmin was recently named a Most Admired CEO by the Philadelphia Business Journal. Throughout her work with companies and non-profits, Jasmin also promotes the financial access, literacy, and empowerment of individual and institutional investors.

In the fourth episode of NOTABLE, host Adrienne Beckham (she/her) sits down with Neil McDevitt (he/him) to learn about his journey transitioning a service oriented and community care mindset into leadership at the organizational, board, and political level. Neil is the Executive Director for the Deaf-Hearing Communication Centre in Swarthmore, PA. DHCC is the largest provider of interpreting services in the Philadelphia region and is also a key provider of advocacy services for communication access for the deaf community in the area as well. Neil joins DHCC after assignments at the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Telecommunications for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing Inc (TDI), and The Leadership Foundry.  Neil is also the Mayor for North Wales Borough in Suburban Philadelphia. In this role, Neil oversees the police department of the Borough and is the elected official who takes charge during the time of an emergency. In Pennsylvania, although the Mayor does not generally vote on legislative matters (except in a tie), they are intensively involved in the activities of Borough Council. He is the first Deaf person to be directly elected to this office in the country.  He graduated from Gallaudet University in 1996 with a degree in Government. He lives in the Borough with his wife, two children, a lizard, and two dogs.  As a former volunteer firefighter in suburban Philadelphia, McDevitt was one of a handful of emergency responders in the country who are also profoundly deaf.
